Fire crew and paramedics tried desperately to save the life of a young child who died this morning after being hit by a vehicle in a private driveway in south Waikato.
The Fire Service was called to a farm near Tokoroa about 9.30, where a child had suffered massive injuries and was in cardiac arrest.
The child's mother was at the property at the time of the incident, police said.
No more information about the child would be released until police have completed their enquiries.
