A man has been killed when a quad bike veered off the road on the Pouto Peninsula south of Dargaville.
Emergency services arrived at Bay View Road at 10.30am today, where the bike had left the road and crashed onto a beach.
The man driving it was killed, and a female passenger has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries.
