8:52 pm on 22 January 2016

Four people have been arrested with the help of a flock of sheep.

Police say they tried to pull over a car carrying the group in Queenstown this morning, but the driver wouldn't stop and headed towards Alexandra.

Police gave chase and deployed road spikes numerous times.

The driver kept going, even though one wheel was down to its rim.

The chase came to an end an hour and a half later when the car was forced to stop because the road was blocked by a mob of sheep.

Two men, aged 19 and 23, have been charged with reckless driving, failing to stop and stealing a car and petrol.

Two 14-year-olds, one female and one male, have been charged with three thefts in relation to petrol driveoffs and stealing a car.
