A man has died after getting into trouble while body surfing at Long Beach, Raglan.
Police said the 53-year-old man was body surfing when he got into difficulties just before 4pm.
Emergency services were called and first aid was performed, but the man died at the scene.
Police are investigating on behalf of the coroner.
