People on social media are complaining their EFTPOS transactions aren't going through tonight.
A spokesperson for Paymark said it was investigating to determine if there was a problem.
He said support staff were trying to find out whether the fault was in its own systems or further afield, such as at supermarkets, banks or in the communication lines.
