The government is giving an extra $100,000 to a rehabilitation group to help offenders deported to New Zealand from Australia.

The Corrections Minister, Judith Collins, says the group, PARS, has already provided practical support, such as housing and employment, to more than 100 offenders.

She says more people have been deported from Australia following a change to its immigration legislation.

A law passed last November allows Corrections to monitor offenders under parole-like conditions.
