About 900 migrants pulled from Aegean sea

The European Union border agency, Frontex, says about 900 migrants have been rescued off the coast of the Greek island of Lesbos.

A spokesperson said the agency was picking up all the migrants it encountered at sea, as bad weather was making the crossing more dangerous during the winter months.

The migrants were picked up on Thursday by a Bulgarian ship on patrol between the port of Mitilini, on Lesbos, and the Turkish coast.
