A man who escaped police custody in Nelson last month has been found in Hamilton.
A Tasman Police District spokeswoman says Ihaka Kawana was found overnight hiding in a cupboard at a Hamilton property.
The 22-year-old appeared in court this morning and has been remanded in custody until next week.
