Auckland Council to cut IT jobs in computer system overhaul

8:12 am on 18 March 2016

Auckland Council is to cut IT jobs to help prune tens of millions of dollars from the cost of overhauling its computer systems.

The unspecified number of cuts will save $1 million a year, along with other restructuring as the IT systems used by the city's eight former councils are merged.

The Auckland Council is making the changes to the big IT integration project after consultants proposed ways to cut its cost by $15 million a year.
