The police have arrested a man after an Armed Offenders Squad callout near Whangarei.
The police went to Hikurangi this morning after reports a man had pointed a gun at people at a rural property and then taken off into nearby farmland.
The armed offenders squad found the man and arrested him without incident.
They located a firearm soon afterwards.
