The man arrested in Brussels over the terrorist attacks in Paris has changed his mind and will not fight extradition to France.

Salah Abdeslam is one of the key suspects in the attacks in November which left 130 people dead.

He was arrested and wounded in a police raid last weekend in Brussels.

The 26-year-old French national born in Belgium had intended to fight extradition to France.

But his lawyer told French media he "wishes to leave for France as quickly as possible" so he can "explain himself in France".

The suicide bombings in Brussels on Tuesday are thought to be linked to the Paris attacks network and the arrest of Salah Abdeslam.

The extremist group, Islamic State, has said it was behind both attacks.
