Police are asking for help from the public to identify a man involved in an aggravated robbery in Whanganui.

The man walked into the Durie Hill Dairy on Portal Street shortly after 2pm yesterday, brandishing a pistol.
After taking goods, he ran off towards the local school.
Police said the shopkeeper was not physically hurt in the robbery but was extremely distressed.
The robber was described as wearing a long-sleeve black top, black pants, and his head was covered with a multi-coloured motorcycle helmet, which police said was distinctive.
