A gun was fired at a house in the Hutt Valley last night and police have cordoned off the property as they investigate.
Police say it appears a shotgun was fired at the Reynolds Street, Taita, house about 10.48pm yesterday.
They have cordoned off the house and are examining the scene. No-one was injured as a result of the incident
Police believe it was an isolated incident and are speaking to the family who live there.
