A 10-year-old Northland boy remains in serious condition at Starship Hospital after being hurt while playing at home.
The boy was flown to hospital yesterday in a critical condition after he was found injured by a family member.
Initially it was thought he'd been playing on a swing, but the police now say a piece of chain which attaches to a hammock is what caused the injury.
The accident is being investigated .
