A tramper has been taken to hospital after spending a night lost on Mt Taranaki.
Police said more than 30 search and rescue workers searched overnight for the woman, who contacted police for help when she got lost while traversing the summit yesterday afternoon.
Officers said they were able to communicate with the woman on her cellphone, but rescuers could not reach her.
They said the 34-year-old was finally found at about 10am today by the Taranaki Rescue Trust helicopter and airlifted to hospital with mild hypothermia.
