Southern Response has confirmed the appointment of Peter Jensen as its chief executive for the final stages of its claim settlement programme.

Company chairperson Ross Butler said Peter Jensen had a strong vision for the final stages of the work.

Southern Response is the government-owned company responsible for settling claims by AMI policyholders for Canterbury earthquake damage which occurred before 5 April 2012 (the date AMI was sold to IAG).

Mr Jensen will start with Southern Response at the beginning of July to allow for the transition with outgoing chief executive, Peter Rose.

Since it started in 2012, Southern Response has settled 72 percent of claims over the Earthquake Commission cap, and 96 percent of its out of scope claims.
