One out of every five petrol stations in France is totally out of fuel because of industrial action, says the French transport minister.
France has been hit by a wave of strikes over the past week aimed at pressuring the government to withdraw labour reforms that unions consider unfavourable to workers.
Striking workers have been blocking oil refineries and depots in protest.
However, Prime Minister Manuel Valls said France had enough fuel reserves to cope.
He said the police had lifted some blockades at fuel depots and will lift more.
Unions said they were determined to continue their action if the government did not withdraw its bill - something Mr Valls said will not happen.
