A Porirua woman has been sexually assaulted for several hours by a man who knocked on her door claiming to be looking for his daughter.
The police say the 65-year-old was assaulted in her Waitangirua home last Friday morning.
They say the offender, thought to be in his late 30s or early 40s, went to at least one other address in the area saying he was looking for his daughter.
They are appealing to the public for information.
The man is described as tall, clean-shaven and well-spoken, and Pacific Islander or Māori. He has short black hair.
