Nothing in it for those who are struggling - Norman

The Green Party says New Zealanders will be paying for the latest Budget for years to come, and there is nothing in it for those who are struggling.

Co-leader Russel Norman says the government accounts are in bad shape because of past tax cuts for high-income earners and spending on highways that hasn't been properly scrutinised.

He says the Government is increasing its borrowing while selling assets, and the current-account deficit is still a big problem.

Dr Norman says he believes the Budget won't make any difference to those struggling to buy a house or those on very low incomes - it's just "business as usual" for them.
