The number of houses sold in Auckland last month were at their highest level for February in five years, but price rises were modest.
Barfoot & Thompson says it sold 764 homes last month, nearly 12% more than the previous month, but a 24% jump on last February.
The average price for the month was $536,000, nearly 3% higher than the same time last year.
Managing director Peter Thompson says prices are edging up at a modest rate, but the market is being held back by the number of houses listed, which is at its lowest point in five years.
