Postie Plus half year sales fall

7:20 pm on 7 March 2012

Half year sales at Postie Plus have slipped slightly, and the retailer warns its half year result will be a touch lower than last year.

Postie Plus says it made $53.9 million worth of sales for the six months to the end of January, which was 4.6% less than in the same period a year earlier.

Chief executive Ron Boskell says despite the sluggish apparel market, its Postie brand performed well and its gross margin improved.

The company will release its half year result later this month, and Mr Boskell expects it to be marginally below last year's, when it lost $749,000.
