The NZX 50 index was down 19 points to 3486 on turnover of 113 million dollars at close Monday.
In currency markets the New Zealand dollar was trading at 82.61 US cents, 77.85 Australian cents, 52.14 pence, 0.68.90 Yen and 0.6272 euro. The The Trade Weighted Index stood at 73.55.
Fletcher Building was down 11 cents to $6.78, Air New Zealand down 1.5 cents to 86 cents and Contact Energy down 14 cents at $4.75.
Pumpkin Patch was up 2 cents to 98 cents and Mainfreight up 2 cents to $9.45.
Sky Television was down 4 cents to $5.26, Sky City Entertainment down 7 cents at $3.91 and Telecom was down 1 cent to $2.45.
Chorus was unchanged at $3.59.
