Benchmark New Zealand shares index, the NZX50, rose 2.5 points Wednesday to close at 3486 on turnover of $103 million.
Fletcher Building fell 27c to $6.70, Pumpkin Patch fell 2c to $1, Sky Television up 5c at $5.18, and
Telecom was down 1c at $2.46.
Hallensteins Glassons rose 2c to $4.02, and the Warehouse rose 4c to $2.79.
In the currency markets, at 5.37pm the NZ dollar was trading at 81.84 US cents, 78.47 Australian cents, 51.27 pence, 67.83 yen, and 0.6140 of a euro. The trade-weighted index, a basket of currencies of key trading partners stood at 72.83.
