Turners and Growers has signalled it expects an improved financial result this year.

In its annual report, the fruit marketer says the New Zealand dollar continues to strengthen against the US dollar, euro and pound, which is concerning for exports and grower returns.

However, it says the domestic market seems to have stabilised from the depressed final quarter of 2011.

Managing director Jeff Wesley says he is confident it has the right management in place to deliver an improved operating performance in 2012.
