Yahoo is planning a shakeup, a week after announcing its biggest round of layoffs.
Chief executive Scott Thompson has outlined how the former internet pioneer plans to revive itself by putting in place a new structure to sharpen its focus on users, advertisers and overlooked areas such as commerce.
Last Tuesday the company said 2000 more jobs would go - 14% of its workforce.
Altimeter Group media analyst Rebecca Lieb says Yahoo has been suffering from an identity crisis for some time.
She expects Yahoo to retain its emphasis on media and content, but to try to make a mark in the e-commerce sector.
