NZ and Australian markets up

The New Zealand stock market is up on Thursday.

At 12.18pm, the NZX50 index was up 17 points, or 0.5%, at 3482 on turnover of $41 million.

Across the Tasman, the Australian 200 index is up 15 points, or 0.4%, at 4261

The New Zealand dollar was at 81.86 US cents, 79.4 Australian cents, 51.44 pence, 66.25 yen and 0.6242 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.10.

Fletcher Building was up 5 cents at $6.07, Telecom down 1 cent at $2.505, Chorus up 1 cent to $3.45 and Contact Energy up 7 cents at $4.85.

Freightway was down 3 cents at $3.91 and Mainfreight up 5 cents at $9.59.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was down 1 cent at $2.19 and Fisher & Paykel Appliances up 0.5 cents at 50 cents.

SkyCity Entertainment was down 2 cents to $3.88 and Sky Television up 2 cents at $5.30.

Oceana Gold was unchanged at $2.98 and Vector down 5 cents at $2.71.

Michael Hill International was unchanged at $1.02, after reporting flat same store sales for the nine months to the end of March.

Renaissance was up 2.2 cents to 16 cents after being confirmed as an Apple computer supplier under the Government's IT supply agreement.

Ecoya was up 2 cent to 97 cents and Turners Auctions down 6 cents to $1.40.
