Auckland Airport has signed a memorandum of understanding with Garuda Indonesia which is considering resuming flights to New Zealand.

The agreement means Auckland would be the airline's first first destination in New Zealand.

Garuda says any development will be part of its plans to expand its network, linking New Zealand to Asian cities and Europe through Jakarta and Bali.
