Air France-KLM has posted more losses in the first quarter of 2012.

The French-Dutch airline reported a net loss of 368 million euros ($US483 million) in the first quarter of the current year.

Deutsche Welle Radio reports that revenue increased by 6% to 5.6 billion euros in the first three months of 2012, but not enough to offset higher fuel costs.

Fuel spending rose by 17.9% to a total of 1.68 billion euros in the first quarter. Air France-KLM said the problem was made worse by unfavorable currency exchange rates.
