The benchmark NZX50 index fell 14 points, to close at 3496 on turnover of $75 million on Thursday.
Fletcher Building fell 8 cents to $6.30, Telecom fell 6.5 cents to $2.575, Chorus fell 5 cents to $3.15 and Contact Energy was unchanged at $4.86.
Sky City Entertainment was down 1 cent at $3.53, and Sky Network TV was down 8 cents at $5.05.
Auckland International Airport was unchanged at $2.58 and The Warehouse down 6 cent to $2.55.
Kathmandu was up 5 cents to $1.59 and Cavalier up 3 cents to $1.45.
Fisher & Paykel Appliances rose 1.5 cents to 55.5 cents, after reporting a fall in annual profit.
Guinness Peat Group rose 1 cent to 45.5 cents, after holding its annual meeting on Thursday.
Port of Tauranga rose 22 cents to $10.97, and Ecoya was up 5 cents to $1.10.
Trustpower was down 15 cents to $7.55, Mainfreight was up 2 cents to $9.42, and Sanford was down 7 cents to $3.98.
Shortly after 5pm, the NZ dollar was at 75.20 US cents, 77.15 Australian, 47.93 pence, 59.75 yen, and 0.5975 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.60.
