NZ market creeps downward

The benchmark NZX50 index fell 10 points, to close at 3486 on turnover of $83 million on Friday.

Fletcher Building rose 1 cent to $6.15, Telecom fell 2 cents to $2.56, Chorus rose 1 cent to $3.20, and Contact Energy rose 5 cents to $4.85.

Sky City Entertainment was down 2 cents at $3.52 and Sky Network TV was down 3 cents at $5.14.

Auckland International Airport was up 3 cents at $2.58, while The Warehouse was unchanged at $2.54.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances fell 1.5 cents to 54 cents, and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare dropped 14 cents to $2.29.

Tower was up 2 cents to $1.64.

Shortly after 5pm, the NZ dollar was at 75.27 US cents, 77.34 Australian, 48.12 pence, 60.07 yen and 0.6019 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 68.85.
