Burger King to expand in China

Burger King intends open 1000 restaurants in China over the next five to seven years.

The group has signed a joint venture agreement with the Kurdoglu family and private equity firm Cartesian Capital.

The BBC reports the Kurdoglu family is Burger King's largest franchisee.

Burger King currently owns 63 outlets in China. McDonald's owns 1400.
