NZ and Australian markets up

The New Zealand and Australian stock markets on Monday followed Friday's strong session on Wall St.

By 1pm, the NZX50 had risen 31 points, or 0.9%, to 3430 on turnover of $33 million.

The Australian 200 index was up 45 points, or 1.1%, to 4140.

The NZ dollar iwas buying 80.11 US cents, 78.33 Australian cents, 51.11 pence, 63.82 yen and 0.6332 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.27.

Fletcher Building was up 20 cents to $6.07, Telecom up 5 cents at $2.44, Chorus up 2 cents at $3.16 and Contact Energy up 3 cents at $4.85.

Sky City Entertainment was up 4 cents at $3.44, Sky Network TV up 3 cents at $4.86 and Auckland International Airport Ltd up 2 cents to $2.46.

Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was unchanged at $1.97 and The Warehouse was up 1 cent at $2.51.

Turners Auctions was up 11 cents to $1.58, AMP up 9 cents to $4.95, OceanaGold up 9 cents to $2.40 and Delegats Group was up 5 cents to $2.69.

Abano Healthcare was down 4 cents to $4.45, Vector down 3 cents to $2.65 and Pumpkin Patch was down 2 cents to 89 cents.
