Freightways is looking at adding more info-sharing companies to its portfolio.

The company on Monday announced it had bought Dataprint New Zealand which could cost up to $6.5 million.

Last year Freightways also bought Australia's Filesaver and the New Zealand operations of Iron Mountain.

General manager of Freightways Dean Bracewell says its a very appealing industry.

"They're just really good businesses to be in with a really long life cycle in front of them and good margins."

He says the businesses are all complementary to Freightways's core skills.

"That's what we're good at, that's what we do and that's what we're looking to invest in and grow."
