NZX lifts a little further

This was just a tenth of the 40 points by which it rose on Monday, but still left the index higher than the 3399 points level at which it began and finished the previous week.

Fletcher Building rose 14 cents to $6.20, and Chorus rose 4 cents to $3.18, while Contact Energy lifted 1 cent to $4.86.

Telecom fell 2 cents to $2.43, Sky City Entertainment dropped 1 cent at $3.47, Sky Network TV fell 3 cents to $4.82, and Auckland International Airport fell 4 cents to $2.41,

Accounting software company Xero dropped 5 cents to $4.95, Hallenstein Glasson fell 3 cents to $4.03,

Oceana Gold fell 8 cents to $2.30, and Cavalier Corp fell 4 cents to $1.55.

At the end of the business day, a New Zealand NZ dollar was buying 80.41 cents US, 78.4 cents Australian, 51.24 pence, 64.13 yen, 0.6386 Euro, and the TWI was at 72.54 points.
