New Zealand has risen two places to be ranked 13th in the world in the Global Innovation Index.
New Zealand ranked third for its political and regulatory environment, but only 25th when measured on the quality of its IT, electricity networks and other infrastructure.
Switzerland, Sweden and Singapore top the rankings, while Australia came in 23rd.
