United Airlines to buy 150 Boeings

US plane manaufacturer Boeing says it has secured an order for 150 of its planes from United Airlines, in a deal worth nearly $US15 billion.

The order comprises 100 of the new Boeing 737 Max 9 planes and 50 Next Generation 737-900ER aircraft, th BBC reports.

Boeing says the deal means it's now received more than 10,000 orders overall for aircraft from its 737 plane, making it the best-selling jetliner in the world.
