Vodafone applies to buy TelstraClear

Vodafone New Zealand has applied for permission to buy TelstraClear.
The Commerce Commission will determine whether the $840 million takeover will substantially reduce competition.
Analysts expect the tie up to be approved since Vodafone is mainly a mobile phone operator and TelstraClear is predominately a fixed line business.
