Fall in online jobs in June

Online job vacancies fell in June after a pick-up in May.

Data from the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment shows skilled jobs dropped by 2.1% on a seasonally adjusted basis last month compared to May.

Total online vacancies fell by 4.5%.

Despite the latest fall, skilled jobs have risen 7.5% on a 12 month basis, while overall online vacancies are up 6.7%.

Demand in Canterbury continues to dominate online jobs, driven by demand from the construction, engineering and healthcare sectors.
