Manufacturers' sales up in June

The latest survey has found manufacturers' sales rose in June, with exports rebounding.

The New Zealand Manufacturers and Exporters Association survey shows total sales jumped 13%.

Export sales picked up, but respondents say trading remains tough due to the high New Zealand dollar and the prospect of slowing demand from Australia.

Confidence edged down, while employment intentions slipped.

The survey sample covered $652 million in annualised sales, with exports making up 41%.
