NZ expats ditch Europe for better job prospects back home

An online employment firms says thousands of New Zealand expats are ditching Europe for better job opportunities in New Zealand.

TrackMeBack, which links expat workers overseas with firms in New Zealand and Australia, says a survey it conducted found the prospect of job growth and economic stability is luring people home.

It says UK Home Office figures show the number of New Zealanders entering Britain for work has fallen by 40% over the past three years.

TrackMeBack says the top 10 jobs that people are returning to here and in Australia include mining, engineering, energy, digital media, healthcare, pharmaceuticals, trades, construction and insurance.
