NZ market up

The NZX50 index gained 2 points, or 0.1%, to close at 3584 on turnover of $98 million on Thursday.

When the markets closed the NZ dollar was at 81.45 US, 76.78 Australian, 51.94 pence, 63.87 yen and 0.6575 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.05.

Fletcher Building was up 4 cents to $6.47, Telecom was down 1 cent to $2.65, Chorus was up 1 cent at $3.14 and Contact Energy was down 21 cents at $4.79.

Sky City Entertainment was up 3 cents at $3.66, Sky Network Television was up 4 cents at $5.12, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was at $1.91 and The Warehouse was up 2 cents to $2.65.

Xero was down 1 cent to $5.20, Goodman Property was down 1 cent at $0.63, NZX was at $1.16 and Telstra was down 16 cents at $5.02.

Mainfreight was down 11 cents at $9.09 after an announcement that profit for the first three months of this financial year has slipped more than 15%.
