The benchmark NZX 50 sharemarket index rose 17.17 points (0.48%) on Monday , to close at 3595 on turnover of $95 million.
The index is at a three-month high - the highest point it has reached so far this year was 3614.97 points on 2 May. A total of 26 stocks in the index lifted, and 16 fell.
Shares which rose on Monday included Freightways, up 1c (0.26%) to $3.91 after posting a record annual profit of $37 million. Mainfreight Ltd rose 13 cents (1.4%) to $9.44.
Fletcher Building rose 14c to $6.54, F&P Appliances rose 1.5 cents to 59 cents, and cornerstone stock Telecom rose 1.5 cents to $1.71.
At the end of the local business day, the NZ dollar was trading at 81.17 US cents, 76.88 Australian cents, 51.76 pence, 63.52 yen, 0.6598 of a euro and the TWI was at 72.98 points.
