Cloud technology use limited

1:59 pm on 12 September 2012

Only one in five New Zealand firms are using cloud technology because many don't understand it.

A study by Colmar Brunton for MYOB found 14% of businesses said they use the cloud for business, 78% said they did not and 8% said they didn't know.

Respondents highlighted a lack of knowledge and security concerns as key barriers to their uptake of cloud technology.

Those using the cloud in their business said the key drivers were their ability to access business data from various locations and reduced exposure to IT issues.
