NZ market down

The NZX50 was down 3 points, or 0.097%, to close at 3786 on turnover of $105 million on Thursday.

At 5.50pm the dollar was trading at 82.22 US, 78.45 Australian, 51.03 pence, 63.90 yen and 0.6361 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.90.

Tower was down 5 cents to $1.80 after announcing its chairperson will step down now instead of February when the term expires.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was up 1.5 cents to $1.18 after Haier announced a full takeover offer of $1.20 a share this week.

Fletcher Building was down 3 cents to $6.69, New Zealand Oil & Gas was unchanged at 85.5 cents, Contact was unchanged at $5.03 and Infratil was up 1 cent to $2.13.5.

Port of Tauranga was unchanged at $12.70, Sky City was up 3 cents to $3.93 and Mainfreight was down 4 cents at $10.30.

Chorus was up 1 cent at $3.53, Telecom was down 0.5 cents to $2.50 and Ryman was up 4 cents to $4.05. NZX was unchanged at $1.08.

The Warehouse was up 3 cents at $2.90 and Xero was up 5 cents at $4.93.
