Retailer The Warehouse has bought import specialist Insight Traders and says that the deal will enhance its sourcing and multi-channel capabilities.
The country's largest listed retailer says the deal will enable it to continue to provide a wider range of products.
The Warehouse says it will also provide an alternative source of bargain products for the recently-launched Red Alert one day deal website and its store offerings.
Chief executive Mark Powell says the Auckland-based Insight Traders specialises in parallel importing.
Mr Powell would not disclose the value but says it is relatively small but tactically important deal.
It is expected to be completed by the end of September.
