NZX slips 42 points

The stock exchange's benchmark NZX 50 index has fallen by 42 points to 3809.

Infratil fell 3 cents to $2.11, Nuplex slumped over 6%, a drop of 21 cents to $2.97 after announcing it is axing jobs and closing plants on both sides ot the Tasman.

Sky Network TV fell 8 cents to $5.02, Chorus fell 2 cents to $3.30, and Contact fell 5 cents to $5.23.

Stock prices which were unchanged on the day included Sky City Entertainment ($3.88), Fisher and Paykel Appliances ($1.185), Fisher and Paykel Healthcare ($2.16), and Ebos ($8.40).

Cornerstone stock Telecom rose 1 cent to $2.345, Fletcher Building rose 5 cents to $7.07, and big box retailer The Warehouse rose 5 cents to $3.02

Vector rose 1 cent to $2.83, NZ OIl and Gas rose 2 cents to 82 cents, clothing retailer Hallenstein Glasson Holdings rose 20 cents to $4.70, while Ryman Healthcare was up 2 cents to $4.07.

At the end of the local business day, the NZ dollar was trading at 82.34 US cents, 79.07 Australian cents, 50.79 pence, 64.27 yen, 0.6361 of a euro, and the TWI was on 73.10 points.
