Online auction site Wheedle has had to close down temporarily because of teething problems which hit in the first day after its launch online.
The company promoted itself as a rival to Trade Me buts says that its site experienced operating issues which meant it has been closed down for maintenance.
Wheedle managing director Carl Rees says the company will thoroughly update its systems and processes.
He says there has been a high level of interest in the site and it will be made available again when the management team is confident it will be working to the expected standards.
