NZ and Australian markets up

The New Zealand and Australian stock markets were up on Friday.

By 12.48pm, the NZX50 index had risen 10 points, or 0.3%, to 38 94 on turnover of $39 million.

The ASX 200 index was up 8 points to 44 91

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 81.58 US cents, 79.58 Australian cents, 50.83 pence, 63.93 yen and 0.6304 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 72.81.

Telecom was up a cent at $2.335, Fletcher Building up 6 cents to $7.30, Chorus up 1 cent at $3.35 and Contact Energy down 1 cent at $5.35.

Auckland International Airport was up a cent to $2.63, SkyCity Entertainment Group up 1 cent at $3.78 and Sky TV Network up 2 cents at $5.00.

Fisher & Paykel Appliances was down 1 cent at $1.22.

Xero was up 5 cents to $5.35, Northland Port up 5 cents to $2.18, OceanaGold up 5 cents to $4.25, Scott Technology up 3 cents to $2.28 and Skellerup up 3 cents to $1.69. Abano was down 6 cents to $5.57.
