New Zealand market up on Thursday

The benchmark NZX50 index has reversed earlier losses to rise 12 points, or 0.3%, to close at 3955 on turnover of $83 million on Thursday.

When the markets closed the NZ dollar was at 81.61 US, 78.53 Australian, 51.08 pence, 65.14 yen, and 0.6401 euro. The Trade Weighted Index was at 73.10.

Telecom was down 1 cent at $2.37, Fletcher Building was up 7 cents at $7.32, Chorus was down 4 cents to $3.24 and Contact Energy was up 3 cents at $5.31.

Auckland International Airport was down 1.5 cents to $2.675, Air New Zealand was down 1 cent at $1.235, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare was unchanged at $2.38, Sky City Entertainment was unchanged at $3.84 and Sky Network TV was down 2 cents to $5.10.

Sanford was up 15 cents to $4.50, Steel & Tube Holdings was up $2.20 and Tenon was up 4 cents to 70 cents.

Mainfreight was down 9 cents to $10.55, Kathmandu was down 8 cents to $1.71, OceanaGold was down 5 cents to $4.23, Nuplex was down 4 cents to $2.92 and Opus was down 4 cents to $2.03.
