Market closes lower

The NZX50 was down 11 points to 4031 on turnover of $90 million at the close on Monday.

The New Zealand dollar was trading at 83.30 US cents, 79.53 Australian cents, 51.99 pence, 68.74 Yen, 0.6458 euro and The Trade Weighted Index stood at 74.62.

AMP Capital was up 7 cents to $6.05, Chorus down 6 cents to $2.73 and Contact Energy down 12 cents to $5.20.

The Fonterra shareholders fund fell 2 cents to $6.60 after the dairy co-operative increased its forecast payout for the 2012/13 season by 25 cents.

Diligent Board was down 5 cents to $4.60, Fletcher Building up 9 cents to $8.33, and Fisher & Paykel Healthcare down 2 cents to $2.59.

Goodman Fielder down 3 cents to 82 cents.

Refining NZ was down 8 cents to $2.60, OceanaGold down 11 cents to $3.54, SkyCity Entertainment unchanged at $3.67 and Sky Network Television unchanged at $5.19.

Telecom was down 2 cents to $2.26, TradeMe up 7 cents to $4.21 and The Warehouse up 1 cent to $3.10 following the announcement of a $65 million deal to buy the Noel Leeming Group.
